If you are making an initial claim for Universal Credit then you will be able to get help from the Citizens Advice Universal Credit Help to Claim Helpline on 0800 144 8444. This is a national service.
Please see our video below that shows you how you can access our service.
This service is for people who live in Kirklees and who are making their first claim for Universal Credit. We can support you to understand and move through the process until you receive your first payment. We can help you to assess if you are eligible for Universal Credit, to understand the Universal Credit process, to gather the information you will need, and to make an initial claim.
Please come into one of our contact centres and we can make you an appointment for someone to give you one to one support with making your application. We can also do a benefits check or a better-off calculation to make sure that you are maximising your income and claiming everything to which you are entitled. The Job Centre can also help you to make a Universal Credit claim.
If you have other issues with benefits we may also be able to help. See our benefits page here.
